File Sharing

SkipZS File Sharing allows you to receive files from your phone directly on your computer over the local network.

Overview

The transfer takes place directly between the devices without requiring cloud storage.

Received files are saved in the SkipZS_Received folder inside your Downloads folder.

Before You Start

You need LocalSend installed on your phone.

LocalSend is available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Use the provided Play Store link or App Store link to download LocalSend.

Android — Google Play Store

Install and open LocalSend on your phone before continuing.
Your phone and computer should be connected to the same local network.

Set Up the Connection

Open File Sharing in SkipZS

Open the Features section in SkipZS.

Find File Sharing.

Select File Sharing.

The File Sharing page will open with the Receive Files section.

Prepare LocalSend on Your Phone

Open LocalSend on your phone.

Select Send.

Select File.

Choose the file you want to send.

Tap Confirm.

Keep LocalSend open while you establish the connection with SkipZS.

Open the LocalSend Connection Options

After selecting the file, open the connection options in LocalSend.

Select Share via link.

The Share via link screen will display the available connection settings.

You will see the following options:

Encryption
Automatically accept requests
Require PIN

Enable Automatically Accept Requests

Before connecting SkipZS using either the address method or the QR method, you must enable Automatically accept requests.

Select the checkbox beside Automatically accept requests.

Make sure that Automatically accept requests is enabled.

Required LocalSend configuration

Encryption disabled.

Automatically accept requests enabled.

Require PIN disabled.

Do not enable Encryption or Require PIN when following this guide.

This step must be completed before continuing with either Enter Address or Scan QR in SkipZS.

Choose a Connection Method

After enabling Automatically accept requests, LocalSend will display the available connection addresses.

SkipZS provides two connection methods:

Scan QR

Choose the method you want to use.

Option 1: Enter Address

Select Enter Address in SkipZS

Return to SkipZS on your computer.

In the Receive Files section, select Enter Address.

You will see a field labeled Sender LocalSend Address.

Find the LocalSend Address

Return to LocalSend on your phone.

On the Share via link screen, you will see one or more local addresses under the section that displays the available links.

An address may look similar to:

http://192.168.1.2:53317/

The address shown on your phone may be different. Always use the exact address displayed by LocalSend on your device.

Enter the Address in SkipZS

Enter the complete LocalSend address into the Sender LocalSend Address field in SkipZS.

Include the complete address, including the protocol, IP address, and port number.

Select Connect.

SkipZS will use the address to connect to the LocalSend service running on your phone.

Complete the Transfer

Once the connection is established, continue with the file transfer.

Wait for the transfer to complete.

Find the Received File

After the transfer has completed, open the Downloads folder on your computer.

Open the SkipZS_Received folder.

Your received file will be available inside this folder.

Option 2: Scan QR

Select Scan QR in SkipZS

Return to SkipZS on your computer.

In the Receive Files section, select Scan QR.

The QR connection interface will appear.

Select Start Camera.

Allow Camera Access

If Chrome asks for permission to use your camera, select Allow.

SkipZS will open the QR scanner.

A camera preview and scanning viewfinder will appear.

The camera frames are processed locally on your device and are not saved or transmitted.

Display the LocalSend QR Code

Return to the Share via link screen in LocalSend on your phone.

Find the LocalSend address you want to use.

Select the QR code icon next to the address.

LocalSend will display the QR code for that connection address.

Scan the QR Code

Hold your phone in front of your computer's camera.

Position the LocalSend QR code inside the scanner's viewfinder.

Keep the QR code clearly visible until SkipZS detects it.

Once the QR code is recognized, SkipZS will automatically read the LocalSend connection address.

You do not need to manually enter the address.

Complete the Transfer

Once SkipZS successfully connects to LocalSend, continue with the file transfer.

Wait until the transfer is complete.

Find the Received File

Open the Downloads folder on your computer.

Open the SkipZS_Received folder.

Your received file will be stored there.

Complete File Sharing Process

Open LocalSend on your phone.
Select Send.
Select File.
Choose the file.
Tap Confirm.
Open the connection options.
Select Share via link.
Enable Automatically accept requests.
Make sure Encryption is disabled.
Make sure Require PIN is disabled.

Then choose either Enter Address or Scan QR in SkipZS.

For Enter Address, enter the LocalSend address and select Connect.

For Scan QR, start the camera and scan the QR code displayed by LocalSend.

After the transfer is complete, open Downloads and then SkipZS_Received to find the file.

Important File Sharing Information

Automatically accept requests must be enabled before connecting SkipZS.

Do not enable Encryption or Require PIN when following this guide.

The LocalSend address may be different on each device. Always use the exact address displayed by LocalSend.

When using QR scanning, keep the QR code clearly visible inside the scanner's viewfinder.

Your phone and computer should be connected to the same local network.

Received files are stored in Downloads, inside the SkipZS_Received folder.
